MAAREF UNIVERSITY PRESS
Corrections, Retractions and Expressions of Concern
Readers, authors and institutions can report a material error through the Press contact channel, identifying the publication, location and supporting evidence. A handling editor assesses the effect on the argument and consults the contributors and independent experts where necessary. Minor typographical adjustments may be made with a dated note; substantive corrections receive a separate notice linked to the original work.
A retraction is considered when findings are unreliable because of major error or misconduct, the work is substantially redundant, or publication seriously violates ethics or rights. A retraction notice states the reasons and the responsible party where this can be established fairly. The bibliographic record remains visible and linked to the notice; removal of the file is limited to compelling legal, privacy or safety grounds.
An expression of concern may alert readers while a substantial unresolved investigation continues. The notice is updated or replaced when the matter is resolved. The Press informs DOI registries and relevant repositories when it has the means to update their records. Every public notice is dated and accessible from the affected publication page.
